May Fun Facts!

The month "may" have been named for the Greek goddess Maia, who was identified with the Roman goddess of fertility, Bona Dea, whose festival was held in May.

The second Sunday in May is always Mother's Day.
In May, 1927 American aviator Charles A. Lindbergh completed the world's first solo nonstop flight across the Atlantic.
In May, 1977, Star War opened Memorial Day weekend, marking the biggest entertainment juggernault in modern popular culture.
There is an old saying: April Showers Bring May Flowers, and the joke is: What do the Mayflowers bring? Answer: The Pilgrims
