August Is Almost Here!

We at the King's Port Inn hope everybody is having a wonderful summer! It's hard to believe that August is almost here, and the summer season is half way over! But nonetheless, summer is still in our midst, and we should enjoy it.
August is considered the "peak season" because it is the time when tourism in Maine is at it's highest. Happy July 4th!

We at the King's Port Inn would like to wish everybody a happy July 4th weekend! We hope you celebrate this weekend with your family and loved ones. Please be safe and have a good time!
We also hope, that you take a moment and reflect on the blessings of this country. The remarkable achievement of the 13 original colonies who successfully suceded from the mighty British Empire. Many important Americans played a part in making this country independent. Great statemen like Thomas Jefferson and John Jay. Superb political orators, like John Adams and Patrick Henry. And constitutional genius's like James Madsion and James Monroe. And of course, the father of the country, and first president George Washington. His leadership with the continental army gave us the victory on the battlefield.
So, in summary, we Americans have a lot to celebrate this weekend. The July 4th fireworks will begin around 9pm, at Kennebunk Beach, at Narragansett Point, in-between Kennebunk Beach and Middle Beach. The fireworks last about 45 mintues to 1 hour. You might want to start out early because traffic will be tight. It you can't make it to Kennebunk Beach, another good spot to see the fireworks is Colony Beach off Ocean Avenue, about 1 mile from the King's Port Inn. There is a jetty there, and the views are really good.
