Dock Square is considered the center of Kennebunkport. It is known for its quaint boutiques and local craft shops, selling everything from souvenir shirts to handcrafted jewelry. Local favorites include Alison's and Federal Jack's, which is located above it's very own Shipyard Ale Brewery that visitors can tour to watch how local beer is made.
Kennebunkport is also home to fancier, special event dining that is definitely worth the extra spending. The White Barn Inn in Kennebunk is New England's only five star, five diamond restaurant, a truly unique experience. There is also "Ocean" a spectacular restaurant across the way from the Bush compound. With it's gourmet food, and panoramic ocean views, Ocean is a must do on any special event.
