Rachel Carson Wildlife Refuge

The Rachel Carson wildlife refuge provides us with a unique view of nature at its purist. The wildlife reserve is open daily from sunrise to sunset for bird watching and self-guided tours. The purpose of this refuge is to protect coastal saltwater marshes for the wildlife in Kennebunk and any southern Maine coastal area.

The one mile self-guided trail is located on route 9 just at the Kennebunk / Wells border, less than 5 miles from the King's Port Inn. The Rachel Carson wildlife refuge is one of many ways to enjoy Maine's great outdoors. This is a great place to try out those bird watching skills, and take in the beautiful nature all around you.
