Dining Activities

The King's Port Inn would like to share some local dining activities in Kennebunkport. Some of the finest restaraunts are hosting special events during the month of January. Maybe you are tired of cooking, or just want to relax, take a minute and consider going out to dinner.
One Dock, located at 1 dock sqaure, is hosting "Where's the Beef-Prime Rib Special" on January 31st from 4:00pm to 8:00pm. You can enjoy a 14-ounce prime rib with two sides for just $19! Also, martinis and Manhattans are available for just $5 per drink. For reservations you can call 967-2621.
Also, One Dock is hosting it's on-going Daily Happy Hour Special from 4:00 to 6:00 pm. All beers, wines and mixed drinks are only $5. One Dock is only a short walking distance from the King's Port Inn.
Earth, another fabulous restaraunt in Kennebunkport is hosting a "Tuscan Table Pop-Up Dinner" on Saturday, January 30th. Join Executive Chef Walker and his team for a four course meal which will feture dishes inspired by Mediterranean and New American cusines. The dinner includes full wine parings, tax and gratuity. The time is from 6:00pm to 9:00pm. The cost is $105 per person, please call 967-6550 for more information.

Jacuzzi Suites in Winter

The King's Port Inn is hoping everybody is enjoying this wonderful winter month of January. We would like to remind our guests and friends that we offer Jacuzzi suites and Jacuzzi fireplace suites at our hotel. They are luxurious rooms with huge roman tubs, gas fireplaces, and small fold-out sofa beds. These rooms are larger in size and are located on the first floor of the main building. They are also equipped with 52 inch flat screen tvs, personal refrigerators and irons and ironing boards. These luxury suites are available in the month of January for as low as $139.00 a night. Fun Facts About Maine

The King's Port Inn is a lovely hotel in the seaside community of Kennebunkport, Maine. We are located in your typical Maine town, with sandy beaches, beautiful harbor views, and lovely natural surroundings.  On the whole, Maine is a beautiful state. We are priviledged to reside here and call it our home.
So, in honor of the state of Maine, we would like to share some interesting facts about the state we all love:
1. We are nicknamed the "Pine Tree State" beacuse of the abundance of pine trees in the state of Maine
2. Maine became a state in 1820 after it broke from Massachusetts, in what was called the "Missouri Compromise". Maine would become a free state and Missouri would become a southern state.(Before the Civil War).
3. Maine has an average summer temperature of 70 degress and average winter temperature of 20 degrees. Which makes it a relatively comfortable place to live.
4. With a population of only 1.4 million people, Maine is the most sparsely settled state east of the Mississippi River.
5. Maine's largest county, Aroostook, is larger than the state of Connecticut and Rhode Island combined.
6. 99% of the wild blueberries in the U.S. come from Maine. It is a 75 million dollar a year crop.
7. The only state park in New England is Acadia National Park.
8. Maine is the only state in the union that borders only 1 other state(New Hampshire).
9. Maine has over 6,000 lakes and 4,613 islands.
10. The second English attempt at a permenant settlement in America was at Popham Beach in 1607, 13 years before Plymouth Rock. Due to the harsh winter, the settlers were forced back home.

Christ Church in Kennebunk is closing out the Christmas season with a joyful concert of Christmas songs and sing-along caroling. Also, the Brick Store Museum will be hosting a outdoor walking tour of Kennebunk's National Register Historic District.
