Fall In Maine!

The King's Port Inn would like to wish everybody a happy fall season! Today marks the official opening of the fall season and  Maine is the best place to be. With beaches, lakes, mountains and parks, there are many activities to be enjoyed in Maine.
Maine beaches may be too chilly for swimming, but there is still plenty to see. There are whale watching cruises that go out everyday, and lighthouses on the coast, no matter what time you visit. A perfect way to see the beautiful Maine coast would be a windjammer cruise.
Also, autumn is prime season for canoeing and kayaking, along with hunting, and fly fishing. Maine is abundant with mountains and lakes, which have a legendary beauty, that will stay with you long after you leave. You'll find great fall camping all over the state, and plenty of friendly faces around the campfire..
Another great destination point in Maine is Acadia National Park. New England's only national park, and the first one established on the east coast, it is the jewel of Down East Maine. Located in Bar Harbor, Maine, Acadia National Park offers a wide variety of activities. From horseback riding, to the park's network of carriage trails, there's plenty to do and see. There are also many seaside inns and bed and breakfasts where you can lay your head.
As the weather cools down in Maine, that's when the festival season heats up! There are many town fairs, such as the Rochester, Acton, and Fryburg fairs. These fairs have a long standing tradition in Maine, with livestock, horse racing, and home backed goods. There are many games and rides for the children and art showings and vendor shopping for the adults.
Another good activity in Maine during the fall season is simply driving. Maine has many scenic highway and byways that are rich with fall foliage. The colors are beautiful with red, orange and yellow leaves. It will make you feel like you're in the middle of an Impressionist painting. Plus, there are plenty of apple-picking opportunities in Maine during the fall season.
The King's Port Inn has availability for Sept. and October. We have premium king rooms for only $139 a night(late Sept.) and Jacuzzi Suites for only $169.00(late Sept.). Starting on October, 10, we have premium king rooms for only $109.00 a night, and Jacuzzi Suites for only $149.00. Each stay includes free parking, free wi fi, and free continental breakfast.
