Circus Smirkus comes to Kennebunkport !

On Monday August 2nd and Tuesday August 3rd, Consolidated School's PTA presents Circus Smirkus here in Kennebunkport. Circus Smirkus Big Top Tour holds 750-seats in a European style one-ring Big Top Tent ! The summer Circus Big Top Tour showcases the best young talent in the Circus Arts today, selected by audition to share the ring with professional circus artists.

Circus Smirkus will be held at 245 Arundel Road, Kennebunkport, Me. 04046 at the Rockin' Horse Stables.

A Fresh Look at the Artist: Abbott Graves

This summer the Kennebunk Historical Society is presenting the art exhibit: A Fresh Look at the Artist Abbott Graves. The exhibit is is runningnow through August 28th. You can enjoy the artwork of renowned artist Abbott Graves at Pasco Center. Located just down the street from us here at the King's Port Inn, at 125 North Street Kennebunkport, Maine.



Hours: Tuesday through Friday 10-4 and Saturday 10-1

Maine Women in the Arts

Maine Women in the Arts will host its annual Summer Art and Crafts show at the Mosonic Hall on Temple, here in Kennebunkport Saturday July 17th from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., and Sunday July 18th from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

More than 50 artist's from all around northern New England will have work on display at this years event. In addition to fine art and photography, Maine Women in the Arts will be showing a variety of crafts including wood, fiber, clay, and jewelry as well as hand-painted cards and prints.

Maine Women in the Arts is a nonprofit organization whose goal is to promote art in Maine.

Shipbuilding Odyssey

On July 25th, 2010, the Brick Store Museum is hosting the Shipbuilding Odyssey event. It is a look at Kennebunk's storied shipbuilding past. This event starts by giving you a brief look at what life was like in the Kennebunks' during the shipbuilding days of the 1800's. This adventure will take you on a trolley ride to various historic local sites associated with shipbuilding along the Kennebunk River. The afternoon concludes back at the Meseum for refreshments, viewing the collections, and you will recieve a special souvenir.

For this event, advance reservations are required by July 20th as space is limited for this signature event. For tickets, stop by or call (207) 985-4802. Tickets for this event are $30.00 per person.

The Brick Store Museum is open Tuesday through Friday 10:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Saturday 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. There is ordinarily a suggested donation of $5.00. Fourth of July Fireworks !

Every year at this time America gets ready to celebrate it's birthday, and Kennebunk / Kennebunkport are ready to celebrate as well.

There will be a great frieworks display on July 4th held at Kennebunk Beach. For the best view of the show it's good to arrive early because parking is limited. There are many other great places to view the fireworks such as the Arundel Warf Restaurant http://www.arundelwharf.com has a great patio and a fantastic menu, or another great place to see them is the jetti at Colony Beach. So whatever your plans, be sure to take time and enjoy the show.
