The King's Port Inn wants to wish everybody a happy April! Now that the spring season is in full transformation, the temperatures will rise to more bearable degrees. This is mother nature's last few attempts at freezing temperatures, and soon summer will be in the air.
The leaves we saw fall and the flowers we saw wilt, are now budding into lush, green, beautiful plants. Aside from the weather's transformations that occur in the spring season, we are transforming our lives, too.
The spring marks the end of the holiday season which saw high-calorie foods loaded with carbs and saturated fats. For example, Grandma's Christmas dinner or Thanksgiving dinner. No more putting off that morning jog because the roads are covered in ice and snow.
When spring rolls into our lives, we start to pick up the slack that winter instilled inside us of becoming sloths. The New Year's resolutions that went awry, the gym membership you have but never got around to going. No more lounging on the couch all day watching football-in spring you can get out and do something!
Take this spring season as a chance to do something positive in the community. Help write the chapter of a new beginnings this spring in creating positive outcomes for all areas of nature, and our health.
The King's Port Inn has availability in the month of April. We have premium king rooms or 2 queens for as low as $89 a night. We also have Jacuzzi suites with a king bed for as low as $119. Each room includes a continental breakfast, free wi fi, and free parking. To make a reservation, please call us at 1-800-286-5767. We would be happy to hear from you.

Happy Saint Patrick's Day!
The King's Port Inn would like to wish everybody a happy Saint Patrick's Day! Saint Patrick's Day is celebrated this year on Friday, March 17th. It is a cultural and religious celebration of Saint Patrick, the foremost patron Saint of Ireland. He was born in 385 AD and lived until 461 AD.
The day commemorates the arrival of Christianity in Ireland. It is celebrated by the Anglican, Catholic, Lutheran, and Eastern Orthodox Church. Saint Patrick's Day also celebrates the heritage and culture of the Irish. It is the official public holiday in the Republic of Ireland. The day usually includes parades, festivals, and church service.
In honor of Saint Patrick's Day, we would like to share some fun facts about the holiday:
The actual color of Saint Patrick is blue. Green became associated with St. Patrick's Day during the 19th century. Green was used because it represented fairies and immortals in Irish legend, and farmers also used it to encourage crop growth.
The very first St. Patrick's Day parade was not in Ireland, but in Boston in 1737.
34 Million Americans have Irish ancestry, according to the 2003 U.S. census. That's almost nine times the population of Ireland.
Nine of the people who signed our Declaration of Independence were of Irish origin, and nineteen Presidents of the U.S. proudly claim Irish Heritage-including President George Washington.
According to the Guinness book of world records, the highest number of leaves found on a clover is 14. Legend says that each leaf of the clover means something; the first is hope, the second for faith, the third for love, and the fourth for luck.
We hope you enjoyed these fun facts. The King's Port in has availability for Saint Patrick's day. We have premium king rooms for only $119 a night. We also have deluxe king rooms for only $129 a night. Each room includes free continental breakfast, free wi fi, and free parking. For reservation inquiries, please call us at 1-800-286-5767.
Happy Saint Patrick's Day!

March Fun Facts!
The King's Port Inn is wishing everybody a happy March! This is perhaps the last month of winter and spring is just around the corner. The weather is still cool, but the days are getting lighter with more sunlight. We believe it's still a great time to get out and enjoy the season. Maine is a beautiful state year-round. Here are some fun facts about the month of March:
If you were born before 150 B. C., March is the first month on the calendar! The old calendar was only 10 months long, beginning in March and ending in December. In the old Roman calendar, January and February were two nameless months called "winter". Proving that winter is literally so awful it doesn't even deserve a spot on the calendar!
March is the best month for basketball. March Madness, the NBA, and cold weather forcing people inside, gives March the edge for basketball activity. In fact, when March Madness runs from March 15th to April 14th, lots of workers will be distracted, costing American companies 1.9 billion in lost wages. Apparently, unproductive workers spend company time focusing on betting pools and brackets. On a side note: the chances of filling in a correct winning bracket for the college tournament is a staggering 1 chance per 9,200,000,000,000,000,000(called 1 in a 9.2 quintillion).
March was names for war-and lives up to that title. March was named after Mars-the Roman God of War and mythical ancestor of the Roman people. With winter frosts melting and the ground becoming fertile for harvest, March was historically the perfect month for both farmers to resume farming, and warriors to resume warring. Incidentally, the Pentagon seems to agree with this Romas tradition: All major US-NATO led military operations since Vietnam, with the exception of the recent War on Afghanistan, have begun in March.
Beware The Ides of March. We've all heard the phrase "beware the Ides of March", but what does it actually mean? On the Roman calendar, the midpoint of every month was known as the Ides. The Ides of March fell on March 15th. This day was supposed to correlate with the first full moon of the year and marked with religious ceremonies. Supposedly, in 44 BC, a seer told Julius Caesar that his downfall would come no later than the Ides of March. Ignoring the warning, we went his way to a senate meeting at the Theatre of Pompey, and was assassinated by as many as 60 conspirators, on the very day of March 15th. Thus, "the Ides of March" refers to some consequential event on the horizon.
We hope you enjoyed these fun facts! The King's Port Inn has availability for the month of March. We have premium king beds for only $89 a night. We also have Royal King Jacuzzi suites for only $119 a night. Each room includes a free continental breakfast, free wi fi, and free parking. We are located just minutes from downtown Kennebunkport.
